REVENGE PORN AS A FORM OF PSYCHOLOGICAL VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the phenomenon of “revenge pornography” as a form of psychological violence against women, addressing the criminalization and combat of the practice within the Brazilian legal system. Initially, the concept and classifcation of revenge pornography will be presented. Next, the practice will be approached as psychological violence against women, discoursing on the view on the role of men and women in society. The laws that expand the fght against revenge pornography will be explained, addressing the infuence of technological advances on the practice of conduct. At the end, the practice confrontation within the Brazilian legal system will be discussed. The objective of the work is to understand, through the deductive approach method, the reason why revenge pornography should be considered violence against women, as well as to understand the role of the legal system in combating the practice of this crime.
